Development Experience
The theme for the 2020 Paint Jam was "Tableau I," which became the inspiration for most of the game's art style.
Scribberang was probably one of the hardest jam games for me to develop, primarily due to the interactions between the eraser and scribble enemies. As well as this, the game included 4 enemy types and a boss - each with their own mechanics. It left me with very little time to balance the game's mechanics, and no time to add sound effects to the project.
Regardless of the game's mechanics, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out visually. There's a lot of good juice on the impact between the eraser and scribbles, and the Tableau background and platforms allowed for a unique take on the game's visual aesthetic.
